Since last year, Smash book has been a hit in the scrapbooking world. I came across it just a couple of months ago and like many others, I was captivated by its simplicity. For years now, I have been planning on doing the project life but as it is, I am always pressed for time and I feel that I don't have the discipline to take picture everyday.
Browsing through the web, I was inspired to combine the Project life with SMASH book. I thought that maybe this time, I would be able to stick with it. My first project is more of a year in review SMASH book. The fun thing is that I don't have to spend too much time looking for the perfect embellishment and papers. I just stick whatever looks good with the picture. One more thing that I actually fell in love with is the software that I recently installed in the PC. It's called Poladroid and it gives instant polaroid look to any picture. Just love the way it looks on my Scrap journal.
I also have to be thankful to a lot of wonderful designers who gives freebies, especially journaling cards, in their website. My personal favorite is Creativity Prompt. Check out her journaling cards.
So once I have finished creating my Year in Review Scrap journal, I will be posting photos of it here.

Crazy About Mini
After surfing numerous creative blogs, I was inspired to make my own travel journal. It's also to prepare for the family's upcoming trip to Baguio City.
I was so inspired by the mixed papers journal I saw from the Creative Place blog that I raided my stash of papers, both traditional and digital.
Here's what my travel journal looked like:
This is the cover of my travel journal. For the front and back cover, I used a chip board that measures 5 1/2" x 7 1/2". I covered it with a cardstock that I bought at our local bookstore.
.I used a tabbed divider that indicates the number of days for our trip. I used a mix of traditional paper which I also bought from our local bookstore. I also printed some digital papers which are freebies from the sites that I frequent..
For my first page, I made a hand made vellum envelop. This is where I plan to store the ephemera that I would be gather through-out the trip. I also included a travel packing list. 1 for Alex, 1 for Ritchie and 1 for me. I downloaded my travel packing list from Tip Junkie.
These are the other pages of my travel journal. I am hoping that I can fill this up during our vacation.
So there it is folks, my very first travel journal.

Reinventing myself...
Loosing weight is the biggest challenge that I have faced. Call me vain but I think my current weight is no longer healthy. I have tried a lot of dieting strategies but mid-way thru my program, I seem to loose steam. Not once have I been diagnosed as clinically obese. Not to mention my family's constant reminder that I am overweight.
Being overweight really brings down one's morale. I may always be seen laughing it off, but it would really hurt my feelings. Most often than not, I would make a dozen excuses not to be around my relatives who would only take notice of the weight I have gained.
I mean, it really is hard to resist temptation and it really takes a lot of discipline, since I work for the food industry. I get free meals at the office not to mention the food that I have to taste and check everytime I would visit one of our outlets. Come on, who would say no to free meals?
Another thing that hinders me from loosing weight is my laziness. I hate exercising. I would rather lie down and sleep than to work my ass out. But then again, for me to be able to achieve the weight that is prescribed off me, I have to move.
I started with a simple regimen this time. 30 minutes of doing exercises on the stepper every morning. No fancy gym for me. Just so that my heart rate would increase thus increasing metabollic rate. Less carbs. I only eat carbs now every breakfast and lunch. My current weight is 140 lbs. and I intend to drop it to 115 lbs. at the least. It may take time but I sure am determined to do it.

Summer...
I could already feel the heat. It's only the 2nd week of March and yet it feels that it's the middle of summer already. Alex would be having his final exams starting on the 14th and after that, school would be finally out.
He is also looking forward to his guitar recital that would be on the last day of March.
I have a feeling that this would definitely be a very busy summer for all of us.
